Koganji Temple is dedicated to the Jizo Bodhisattva - the Earth Store Bodhisattva. The Jizo Bodhisattva vowed never to attain Nirvana until He had saved from hell all sentient beings who called His name. With His spirtual power, the Jizo Bodhisattva has saved countless of lives, protected people's health and safety, and blessed people and changed their lives for the better.
We all need the Jizo Bodhisattva's powerful spiritual blessings and protection. In these challenging and unpredictable times, we especially want our children to receive the Jizo Bodhisattva's spiritual blessings.
Koganji Temple will offer a special prayer service and blessing for children's health and safety. The public of ALL faiths and religions are welcome to participate in this special blessing.

4:30 - Registration begins; donations are welcome
5:00 - Special prayer service begins
After the service - There will be a procession of Koganji Temple's Bishop Jikyu Rose, Shomyo (men's choir), Goeika (women's choir), and the children around the Temple grounds to the outdoor stone Jizo Bodhisattva to offer prayers and where the children will offer flowers (provided by Koganji). At the outside altar, Bishop Rose will then offer the Mukaibi prayer service to welcome all the spirits of our ancestors to Koganji Temple.
And that begins the Koganji Temple Bon Dance 2019.
